Will Artifical Intelligence Out Perform Human Beings?
Artificial Intelligence or AI as many of us also know it, is simply a technological advancement. Although the term was not officially termed and recognised until 1956 These advancements, in general, are something that can go right back to the industrial revolution and the emergence of our first machines in the factory and manufacturing industry. Its something that will always evolve and new technology developed, sometimes quicker than many non-technical people can keep up with.
The Industrial revolution caused mass job losses and as a result, in turn, caused redundant workers, better known as the Luddites to smash and destroy these machines in the 1800s. The concept remains the same even today, that technology will probably eventually outdo human beings in workplaces in many sectors. However, does this mean we should fear technological advancements of this nature?
It is true that technology will eventually be able to do the work that currently requires humans particularly in manufacturing for example but this is something that has and always will be part of technological advancement and something we have always adapted to during these processes.
Examples of AI currently are Siri, Alexa, Bixby, and so on. AI does have its benefits and is something we all use every day with our electronic devices and we don’t need to do basic internet searches for example all of these AI services can do it for us through voice activation and recognition.
At the moment particularly in manufacturing there a wide range of robotics used for maximum productivity i.e they can do the actual work faster, but these robotics still require in most cases some form of human control to function.
When it comes to human-like artificial intelligence interfaces, these are becoming increasingly clever and freakishly human-like. Take Sophia as an example.
