How To Be Innovative – Day 23 – Strengthen Your Resources
Sometimes companies allocate vast resources for innovation and others only have a fraction of these resources are available. The key either way is to strengthen your resources and make the most of what you have. You must remember that you are part of an organization that has resources that you can tap into even if those resources are not explicitly yours. For example, accounting can be given to the main company finance team. One key thing is to have a full time project leader who can lead the project and apply resources where they are best suited. Outside help is also useful, but as an extension to the main team only and not as the main project drivers. Outsourcing certain mundane activities can also be useful, as mundane activities are usually simple, but necessary. What this means is it is easy to teach some else to do projects, then your team can focus on the complicated task of innovation, rather than having their time used on simple tasks.
